Open Door

St. Michael’s church building is ancient, beautiful and attracts lots of visitors. It is also an ideal place to find a few moments of peace, to be still and to pray. Therefore, through the commitment of a team of volunteers, we aim to have the church building open from 10am–2pm, Mondays-Fridays. In addition, there are details below of other regular events when the church is open.

If you’re interested in the history of the building, you might like to click on the link below, which gives a brief overview of the building’s long and fascinating story.

Please do come and visit, have a wander around, and take time to be still, perhaps light a candle and say some prayers. When you visit, there are leaflets available which point out the highlights of the building.

Fellowship Lunches
On the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month, from 12-2pm, there’s lunch available in St. Michael’s. It’s a lovely opportunity to enjoy a nice, warm, home-cooked meal, and chat with others.

Saturday Coffee
Each Saturday Penkridge is really busy as it welcomes lots of visitors to the large market. St. Michael’s, just a stone’s throw from the market, is open each Saturday morning, from 10am-12pm, for tea, coffee and cakes. Come and rest weary feet from shopping and enjoy a cuppa and home-made cake.
